Today I am going to talk about Search Engine Optimization (SEO). What it is, its basic, and types.
So, how many times have you wondered how Google knows it all? Like there is literally nothing that you search on Google and will not find an answer. I mean Google even displays the result for search queries in Gibberish. From “what is the color of the sky” to which is the closest universe to ours”, you can find an answer to everything. Google even has a cure for Corona when God, even scientists do not have it yet. It is insane, right?
So, how does it know it all?
Well, let me be very honest, it is not Google, it is us SEO experts who are feeding all that knowledge into Google.
And that is why you can find answers to things that do not actually are not discovered. Mostly because some of us are too hungry for traffic and would publish literally anything to get a few views or sometimes, they are just misleading titles with the same old news.
So, how does it work and what is the benefit of it?
Let us begin…
What is SEO?
SEO stands for “Search Engine Optimization.”
Put simply, it is the method of optimizing your website to improve its visibility for relevant keywords. The increased visibility your webpages have in search engine results, the more the chances are for you to draw recognition and drive new and current customers to the business.
So, how can you improve your site for search engines?
Well, there are many key elements to take into consideration such as keywords optimized content, mobile-friendly website design, internal linking, HTML, backlinks, etc.
All of this helps your website to become a good fit for showing in the search results.
Why Is Important for Marketing.?
People make trillions of inquiries on Google and other search engines every year to find answers and details of products and services. These Searches are mostly the main source of traffic for the organizations and digital brands and bring them millions in revenue. Also, SEO is free, unlike paid ads. So, you are not paying anything and getting a pretty great ROI without any investment.
Also, search has progressed to give users more relevant and point answers to make them stay on the result pages bringing quality traffic, leads, and eventually a conversion. This is one reason why businesses of all sizes are more inclined towards hiring SEO experts than Paid ads managers. So, SEO is not just good for marketing, it is also a great career choice as well.
How SEO works?
Search engines such as Google, Duck Duck Go, Yandex, and Bing use bots to crawl webpages against every keyword, they go from one website to another, gather the information about the pages, and then index them. Then algorithms evaluate each webpage via several ranking factors and determine the order (ranks) webpages should appear in the SERPS against a query. Elements of the customer experience can be proxied by search ranking variables. There are six key categories, each with a different weighting based on how important it is to SEO:
Types of Search Engine Optimization
On Page SEO
On-page SEO refers to the process of optimizing individual web pages to improve their search engine rankings and generate more qualified traffic. It relates to a page’s content as well as its HTML source code. On-page search ranking elements are completely within your command.
As a result, it is critical to strike a balance between meeting the needs of the audience and rendering the web pages search engine-friendly. Define the title of the post or page, the level of research, HTML headings, targeted keywords, anchor text, and the website design to assist both search engine crawlers and people find what they are looking for when optimizing on-page.
Off Page SEO
“Off-page SEO” pertains to outside factors that influence your rankings. Search engines do not just look at what is on the website and what users can see. To produce the most accurate answers, they also consider reputation, the value of a website’s backlinks, the user’s location, and a variety of other variables. You can focus on enhancing your off-page to improve your site for search, even if you cannot control these elements.
Off-page is heavily influenced by the popularity, relevancy, reliability, and credibility of the website. Other respectable websites connecting to or endorsing your website, as well as individuals effectively showing support for the authenticity of your content, help to accomplish this. That is all the basics you need to know about SEO. I will come up with a more detailed article next time.
