While we have all had to endure the pandemic for the past few years, it’s not all doom and gloom; indeed, new tech is always coming out and we can expect 2022 to be a year like no other, with the arrival of 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Here is a list of emerging tech that we will all use in a few years from now.
- 3D Printing – Many individuals already own a 3D printer and in most US cities, you will find a lot of printing shops that are incorporating 3D printers. Composite materials can be ordered online and how cool would it be to walk into a 3D printing store and order a new car body! There is so much potential with 3D printing; search online for suppliers and take the next step towards the future.
- Logistics – Drone delivery is already in place in some states, with Amazon leading the way; How does the future of drone delivery look? A single truck has 6 drones parked under the roof, which are loaded by the driver and using the IoT, the drones deliver their goods to the lucky recipients, who automatically receive a text informing them of the delivery time. - The Smarthome – Using the IoT, the home of the future is fully automated and using mobile apps, the homeowner can manage climate control, start the evening meal and even receive visitors on your behalf. We can already view the perimeters of our home using the Internet and this will become the norm for every homeowner and you will be able to communicate with every system in your home from any location.
- Artificial Intelligence – All the experts are in agreement that AI is the real game-changer’ who knows where machine learning will lead? How far have we come? In 2026, a supercomputer by the name of AlphaGo played the current Go champion, Lee Sidol and the computer won by 4 games to 1. This shocked the world, as there are said to be more possible moves than atoms in the known universe and this is a sign that our future world will be managed by AI. Think of the implications for product design, with AI based designs that humans could never create. AI might even be able to solve complex issues that we find challenging and machine learning is probably the fastest growing tech sector as we move into 2022. We should all be life-long learners and most young people love to learn new things.
The new digital highway, named the Internet of Things, will certainly enhance our lives in more ways than we could imagine. We are most definitely living in exciting times and the future looks like it will be managed by artificial intelligence.
