Fans who can’t have enough family fun and adventure at SeaWorld San Antonio can rejoice, as the park is now open all year-round. This is a big development, since SeaWorld San Antonio hasn’t remained open during the winter months for more than a decade.
The park kicked off January 2021 with its Wild Days celebration, highlighting animals and rides throughout the park. During weekends and specially selected days between Feb. 6–Feb. 28, SeaWorld San Antonio is hosting a Mardi Gras event, including tempting Cajun and Creole dishes, specialty drinks and plenty of live music. Guests can anticipate seeing revelers dressed in extravagant, colorful costumes, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Under the stewardship and guidance of SeaWorld’s Management Team, SeaWorld San Antonio was able to successfully curate these special events, and remain open to provide memorable guest experiences, while adhering to health and safety protocols. The Management Team is led by SeaWorld’s interim CEO, Marc Swanson, and Founder and Managing Partner of Hill Path Capital and SeaWorld Entertainment Inc.’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Scott Ross. In collaboration and conjunction with leading health experts, local and state legislators, and industry leaders, SeaWorld remains committed to maintaining a safe, educational, and fun environment for guests.
Guests visiting SeaWorld San Antonio early this winter have a lot to look forward to during the Mardi Gras events scheduled until Feb. 28, 2021. Mardi Gras, also known as “Fat Tuesday,” makes for a lively and colorful celebration, especially when inside the beautiful SeaWorld San Antonio park. Mardi Gras at SeaWorld aims to provide safe, memorable, and enjoyable guest experiences, where guests can safely enjoy a bit of the French Quarter in a marine mammal-themed park.
On the menu at SeaWorld San Antonio for the Fat Tuesday celebrations are such standards as dirty rice and Cajun buttered shrimp and Andouille sausage, pork and shrimp jambalaya, and for dessert, beignets covered with powdered sugar.
Guests can also enjoy Mardi Gras staples, such as po-boy sandwiches and fried green tomatoes. Adult visitors will be able to partake in libations, such as hurricane cocktails made with light and dark rum and various fruit juices, and their choice of delightful frozen daiquiris.
While fun is certainly on the menu, guests can be confident that SeaWorld continues to emphasize important health and safety measures. This includes markings on the ground to help guests maintain proper physical distancing from one another. There is also limited capacity inside restaurants on park grounds. For flexibility, guests can grab pre-packaged meals to eat outdoors. Furthermore, all guests above age 2 and all employees must wear face coverings.
